Good afternoon families of Dr. E. W. Coffin School
Thanks to our School Council for supporting our programming. On Tuesday, our School Council provided incredible and necessary support for our technology plan in addition to supporting an author visit (Eric Walters: https://www.ericwalters.net), and an Indigenous Residency with Elder Saa’kokoto. We are quite excited about all the plans for next year and want to thank our parents for this generous support.
Also, we were presented with an incredible gift through the support of Adrienne Hui and donation by Jill Godfrey. Mrs. Godfrey moved out of the community and in her cleaning process she uncovered an original invitation to the opening of Dr. E. W. Coffin School in 1967. She donated this original invitation to the 1967 school opening ceremony to our school. Adrienne had this invitation prepared and framed and it is proudly displayed outside our main office. Thank you for curating this special piece of Dr. E. W. Coffin history.

- May 22 – Kindergarten Orientation (6-7 pm, with 5-6 pm orientation with Millenium Kidz)

- May 29 - Volunteer Tea: 2:15 – 3:30 pm. Details TBA
- June 7 – Sports Day (Volunteers needed)
- June 18 - Social Studies 6 PAT

- June 19 – Fun Lunch
- June 25 – Grade 6 Farewell Ceremony

Kindergarten News
Dr Coffin’s kindergarten orientation is fast approaching. If you have a kindergarten student starting in 24/25 school year and have not registered yet, please complete the online registration (www.cbe.ab.ca) and plan to attend the upcoming orientation day on May 22 at 6-7 pm.
SOGO Adventure Running Program
WHAT DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?
Not much, just a good pair of running shoes, running clothing for spring temperatures (synthetic shirt, running pants/tights, wind and fleece jacket, toque/gloves). A larger lunch or snack with extra water is always a good idea on these days too.
