Overflow and Re-designation of Northland Village Students
Due to continued enrolment growth in the regular program at Captain John Palliser School, Dr. E.W. Coffin School will be the established overflow receiver school for Northland Village students for this school year, and a designation change will be made for the 2024-25 school year.
- Effective immediately, any new regular program registrations for Captain John Palliser School from the Brentwood community, west of Northland Dr. NW (also known as Northland Village), that cannot be accommodated will be overflowed to Dr. E.W. Coffin School for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
- Effective for the 2024-25 school year and beyond, regular program students residing in Northland Village will be re-designated from Captain John Palliser School to Dr. E.W. Coffin School.

What is the Regular Program?
The Regular Program spans from kindergarten through grade 12, providing a comprehensive educational experience. Alternative Program
Learning to Fit Each Student's Needs and Interests
Alternative programs provide a distinct educational experience by focusing on specific subjects or languages and engaging students with advanced learning methods or in unique classroom environments. These programs are designed to personalize education to meet students' learning needs and goals. Additionally, some alternative programs may be more flexible regarding schedule or structure, giving students greater control over their learning. Parental involvement is highly encouraged through activities such as parent-teacher conferences and school events.
Registration for Non-Canadian Students

We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to non-Canadian students who are eager to embark on an enriching educational journey with us. Our schools are welcoming, caring, respectful and safe environments where students will learn, make new friends, and discover their talents and interests. Students who are not Canadian citizens must register through CBE Welcome Centre, even if they have attended school elsewhere in Canada.

Is your student currently enrolled in the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) or has your student been previously enrolled in CBE? Follow these steps:
Gather Your Documents
You will need to submit copies of the following documents to complete the registration process:
- Proof of Address
- Guardian ID
Start Online Process
Registration is done through our online registration system (SchoolEngage).
Start RegistrationWait for Confirmation
Your student will be accepted or placed on a waiting list at one of your school choices. We’ll let you know via email. Ensure all your documents are submitted to be automatically enrolled at your school of placement.
Transferring Between CBE Schools
At the CBE, when you are transitioning from elementary to middle school, or from middle school to high school, you will be automatically registered at your designated school according to your home address. To find out what your designated school is, use our Find a School tool. If you are interested in attending a school other than your designated school, visit CBE'sTransfers page for transfer information. Please note that some schools are quite full and not able to accept all transfer requests.
