Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year here at Dr. E.W. Coffin!
I hope that you had a wonderful summer and I look forward to hearing all of the stories that our students have to share. I had a great summer but I’m looking forward to getting back to the awesomeness and excitement of a new school year.
Our staff has been busy preparing for their arrival this coming Monday morning. Homeroom teachers will be sending emails out at around noon today, welcoming students to their class.
Our classroom structure this year is as follows:
- Kindergarten – Bode Procinsky (1 class - AM)
- Gr. 1/2 - Sarah Stilborn and Heather Armour (2 classes)
- Gr. 3/4 - Samantha Jones and Kim Cowdy (2 classes)
- Gr. 5/6 - Moe Saunders and Victor Pedenko (2 classes)
This fall, the CBE has hired hundreds of teachers, education assistants, and other school staff to support student learning. These positions have been funded by the Government of Alberta with the intention of addressing classroom complexity and class sizes.
Our CCT team here at Dr. E.W. Coffin will consist of Michelle Villemaire (Teacher) and Amy Jonsson Palmer and Helen Li (Education Assistants),
This additional staff will help ensure students benefit from:
- Increased teacher attention
- Improved classroom learning environments
- Greater support for diverse learning needs
We look forward to welcoming students and their families to our Meet the Teacher evening on Thursday, September 3 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. More details on this to come! Also, please ensure that you go into your MyCBE account to complete the required forms.
We have a wonderful school community here. We are all a crucial part of it and by working together, our amazing students will thrive. The staff and I can’t wait to get started.
