Meet the Teacher Evening

Thank you to everyone who attended our Meet the Teacher Evening yesterday! It was an incredible turnout, and we really value your partnership in your child’s education. There was a great sense of community in the building last night. We look forward to working with you for a successful 26-27 school year.

Attendance Reminder

If your child is going to be away from school for any reason, please leave a message on the attendance line at (403) 777-6190. Please include the specific reason for the absence as we are required as a school to keep accurate records of student attendance. If no reason is given, absences are recorded as unexcused absences. Thank you!

School Council Meetings

School Council is looking to have at least one parent from each classroom to attend meetings this year. Our first School Council meeting is taking place on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:00 pm. Meetings are held in-person at the school, and also online via Microsoft Teams. Please email drcoffinschoolcouncil@gmail.com if you are interested in being your class representative for this month.

Weekly Communication

Communicating with families is a priority for our staff. You can expect a weekly message from the office. Please head directly to the school website home page to read the message: https://drewcoffin.cbe.ab.ca/  

Your student's teacher will send you a weekly update on Friday highlighting that week’s learning, as well as important upcoming events or announcements.

MyCBE Account

Do you have a MyCBE account? Registering is extremely important as this is how you will pay fees and view your student’s report card. Please visit the following link for more information: https://cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool-Creating-Account.aspx

Fun Lunches

School Council has organized one Fun Lunch per month. Fun Lunches are completely optional for families. Our first opportunity will be on Sept. 16. All ordering is done on the Healthy Hunger website: https://healthyhunger.ca/index.php

The deadline for orders is midnight on the Friday before. If there are any specific concerns about allergies or ingredients, parents should contact the restaurant directly. Please note that a small amount of each order goes towards fundraising for School Council.

Volunteer Clearance

Are you interested in volunteering at our school this year or supporting a class on a field trip? To do so, you must have a current police check on file with the office. The CBE has partnered with Calgary Police to streamline the application process at no cost. To get started, please stop by the office with your driver’s license.
