Halloween at Dr. Coffin
With Halloween quickly approaching, we look forward to having a fun Friday October 30 here at school. We welcome students to wear a costume if they choose, and they may do so for the entire day. When choosing a costume, we ask that families take the time to consider if it is appropriate and respectful to all cultures, beliefs, and groups of people. Masks can be worn during the parade but must be removed entering the building, and inside. For safety reasons, we need to be able to see our students’ faces. Remember, we are a K-6 school, so costumes that involve gore and weapons are not appropriate. Finally, classrooms will not be offering food to share. Students are welcome to bring their own special treat to eat if they choose to. Thank you for understanding.
As is tradition, we will host our student costume parade on Friday, October 30 at 9:00 AM. We welcome parents to join us at the basketball court behind our school for the parade.
Literacy and Numeracy Testing
We recently concluded the mandatory government literacy and numeracy testing for Grade 1-5 students here at our school. Results reports will be coming home with students in the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.
